It’s been an incredible 6 months of being in America but I am so excited to be heading back in Zambia! These past months I’ve met with current supporters and even welcomed several new supporters to the team. I can’t thank God enough for this incredible group of people who have partnered with the ministry work I’m doing in Zambia with Overland Missions.
As I begin the prep and packing chaos for the two weeks, there are a few things I’d like all of my supporters know.
1) We celebrate every partnership
It doesn’t matter if you’re partnership is for $1 a month of $1000 a month, each and every one of you have been celebrated when you made the commitment to be a part of this ministry. We know that you play a HUGE part of mobilizing the projects on the ground that God has laid on our hearts. Please know that you are celebrated and cherished with all of our hearts.
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? How shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!‘” Rom 10:14-15
2) Your messages and emails mean the world to us- even if we’re not great at replying quickly
I end every single one of my newsletters (click here to subscribe) with a prompt to email me, whether for prayer or just to catch up. It isn’t fake. I absolutely LOVE hearing from all of you. I may not be the quickest to reply. Sometimes I see your message while waiting for a leadership training to begin and don’t get to reply for awhile. However, it still makes my day. Suddenly the distance seems shorter, even with just a quick hello on Facebook!
3) When you tell us you pray, we know the impact that it has
I’ve had people tell me that even though they can’t join my team with a financial contribution, they can at least pray. Praying is not the least, it is the most important! I know the power of prayer. I see it in every moment of every day. When we pray in faith, we see God at work. Please PRAY!
“Our prayers lay the track down on which God’s power can come. Like a mighty locomotive, his power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails.” Watchman Nee
4)We want to know you
Recently I shared with a pastor that I don’t want my partners to be just names on a check. I want to develop a relationship together. To feel like I know you and that you know me. It’s my prayer that I get to have each of you come see the ministry in Zambia firsthand. Being a part of this team is about building and encouraging each other as much as it is ministering to the unreached. God has and will continue to use each other in mighty and amazing ways!
5) You’re not a donor, you’re a team member
So many times it’s easy to just send a check every month and think that’s all there is. However, that’s NOT my heart. It is my desire that every one of your feel like you’re part of something bigger. Because you are! You’re part of a God ordained team that He is using to radically change nations! Your thoughts, ideas, prayers, and support are incredible valuable as we all play the part that God has called us to. We are only strong when we work together!
“Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecc 4:12
So please know that being a part of this team is not something small. It’s is something far greater then any of us fully realize. God has placed us together for an incredible purpose and I am so HAPPY to be working together with every single one of you!
