New Wheels for Zambia
Thanks for taking time to watch the update video. The need for a reliable vehicle here in Zambia is great…. one of the most important tools here for us in ministry. Our goal is to bring the Gospel and raise disciples in unreached and neglected areas. In order to do this, a 4×4 vehicle is necessary.
Currently 31.6% of the needed funds have been raised. $22,544 is remaining to purchase, import, and upgrade features in order to make it able to handle the terrain in the villages. Every week I’m driving across washed out paths, river crossings, and rocky terrain. Strong tires, suspension, and a snorkel are just some of the requirements needed on any of our vehicles here!
As of last Friday (June 1st), my current truck is out of commission.
I was sitting at the red light in Livingstone when my truck started shaking! I quickly pulled into the parking lot and messaged our mechanics on base. After a quick discussion and quick inspection we figured that the engine mounts had worn out. A reasonable guess providing that the truck is 24 years old and has been on african roads for the past 8 years.
That following Monday I dropped the truck at the mechanic’s in town expecting to be able to pick it up in a couple days. However, I received an email that it wasn’t the engine mounts and is a SERIOUS problem. The cylinder head is warped with a few, small cracks. There is a chance that it will hold pressure. However the mechanic has strongly advised that regardless of what happens, it’s time to retire the truck. His recommendation is that it’s no longer reliable for me to take it to the places where I’m ministering.
Please pray about helping to meet this need and consider sharing this with anyone you think might be interested in helping. All donations are tax deductible!
If you would like to partner with this project, you can make a donation online here. Please put “3004V” in the memo box in order for our finance office to designate the donation towards the new truck.
Thank you very much for your prayers and partnership. I really appreciate it!
Here’s a breakdown on how the finances will be used for the vehicle
